Automated Process Control System (APCS) for Blast Furnace Nr. 1 of CJSC «Makeevka Metallurgical Works»

ACS for BF-1 ensures process control on Blast Furnace Nr. 1 of CJSC «Makeevka Metallurgical Works».

The system includes:

automatic dosing of coke and burden materials;
control over the process equipment that ensures materials charging into the blast furnace and constant stockline in the blast-furnace mouth;
continuous control over the gas flow temperature distribution over the stockline across the blast-furnace mouth diameter using hot probe, which ensures early detection and timely correction of the charging and blowing rate of smelting;
control and automatic regulation of blast-furnace gas and air flow ratio for each stove;
automated control over the cooling mode of the hearth, top hearth block and tuyeres.

APCS for BF-1 gives the possibility to solve the following problems:

control over the coke and burden materials dosing, control over the process equipment that ensures materials charging into the blast furnace;
automatic control over the air requirement for stove burners depending on the blast-furnace gas calorific value;
automated control over the rate of blowing, natural gas, blast-furnace gas, air and steam which are used for blast-furnace smelting;
automated control over the thermal state of cooling staves of the hearth, top hearth block and tuyeres;
controlled variables are displayed for the blast-furnace foreman in the form of diagrams and trends;
generation of databases, access of the system users to the databases.
