The System of Control over the Rolled Stock Cutting Process on a Continuous Billet Mill (Version1)
The system's purpose is to minimize the rolling-mill scrap (crops) and the amount of random bar lengths at the exit from the main line of a continuous billet mill, as well as to keep a reliable record of the produced rolled stock.
The system's functions are:
- to measure the rolled stock parameters on the continuous billet mill.
- to measure the stock length at the exit from the roughing train of the continuous billet mill;
- to measure the semi-finished stock length before the entrance into the finishing train of the continuous billet mill;
- to measure and control the free cutting length (without the cutting tail) on the flying shears;
- to measure the actual length of the cutoff bars;
- to determine the actual elongation ratio.
- to calculate the cutting plan for the main line of the continuous billet mill;
- rational nonresidual cutting;
- cutting into bars of specified length according to the programmed setting;
- to control the length of the cutoff bars on the flying shears according to the cutting plan;
- to display information about the cutting process and its results on a special console of the main line pulpit;
- to control the system's operating modes directly from the special console installed at the pulpit of the main line of the continuous billet mill;
- to keep full record of the cutting process (full record of each ingot cutting etc.) with data transfer to the factory automated control system "Steel-rolled stock";
- to keep record of the metal, rolled on the continuous billet mill;
- to control the length of the stock front end trimming in compliance with the given technological range.
Hardware:
- Two microprocessor control systems based on OCTAGON 5066 controllers;
- Special operator's pulpit based on OCTAGON 5081 controller for the cutting process visualization;
- Uninterruptible power supply APC UPS 650;
- Console switch MAXXTRO;
- Monitor, keyboard;
- The system is installed at the operator's pulpit in a special cabinet, produced by "RITTAL".
Software: operational system "MS-DOS", programming languages: "Assembler", CamBasic and "C++".
